Here are some elements to consider for a successful wedding video:

1. Hire A Planner - probably the most difficult task on your wedding day is to let go and enjoy your day. You’ve dreamt about this day for so long, and now you’ve brought the dream to life with hours and hours of planning. Enjoying your wedding day, your guests, and some closeness with your partner are vital to a successful wedding video. Trust that all of the planning has been figured out every which way. There are professional vendors and a planner who are there to ensure that things run smoothly, and everyone wants  you to enjoy yourself and love your day.  When a bride is preoccupied with taking care of small elements, worrying about guests or details.. it shows on camera and takes away from this amazing day that has been in the works for so long

2. Details & Decor
- The details of your wedding help create the tone and color pallet for your wedding video. Things like invites, announcements, gift bags, flowers, shoes, jewelry, special gifts, vows, notes, the more we can capture, the better. We typically capture these details first, along side the photographer. There are many talented decor teams in Key West that create magical backdrops for your ceremony and reception.

3. Music
- It’s not only important for your reception! Send over all of the songs you plan on using for all aspects of your wedding. Music sets the feel and tempo for the video edits. We typcially do not set up the final music for your wedding until after we shoot the wedding. During the day, we can get a better feel for your personality and the overall vibe of the event… afterwards we take your notes and thoughts and choose music accordingly.

4. Technical Aspects -  Make sure your officiant is amplified. For an outdoor wedding, it is often hard for guests to hear officiants if they are not amplified. We always have a lavaliere microphone on the officiant , but that is audio for the video cameras and will not amplify their voice. Make sure your guests can hear well, so they are more a part of your ceremony.

5. Unplugged Ceremonies - Encourage your guests to be present during this sacred moment in your lives. You can have a custom sign in the ceremony area or even better, have your officiant make an anncouncement just before the processional to please keep cell phones and cameras off and tucked away for the ceremony. It not only keeps them engaged in the moment, it helps your photo and video team too. There’s nothing worse than a camera phone sticking out  into the aisles and often up into the air, blocking our line of site and getting in the way of that perfect shot!

6. Communicate -
If you have specific expectations or wants, definitely communicate those with us… and any of your vendors. We love to see other perspectives and ideas in the wedding film business. There are different styles from other regions and countries.
We love challenges and to make something unique for you and your vision.  We can take ideas from other weddings and then tailer them to your specific event. show us what inspires you!

7. Soak It Up! - Enjoy yourself and take it all in. So many couples say that the day goes by so fast. Often that they don’t get to even see everything and all the details they have planned. A wedding video allows you to see and hear all of the events, areas and people that you love and have come to your wedding.

Wonderdog Weddings hit the road last February to capture Jenn and Kyle's big day at the stunning beach resort, The Islander Resort. The cloudless windy day was the perfect backdrop for this couple's sunny personalities. From the first look to the cake cutting, these two lovebirds were snuggled up close and enjoying every second of their special day. If there's one thing we love at a wedding, it's a dog in the wedding party. Jenn and Kyle may have been the guests of honor, but Biggie certainly stole the show. He escorted the bride down the aisle and made his own entrance at the reception. Congratulations Jenn and Kyle! Enjoy their highlight videos below.

Sydnie and Chris said "I Do" on a blustery day in Key West. As they made the leap from fiancés to newlyweds, the winds were shifting to bring in a rare winter storm. The chilly weather didn't stop these two and all of their guests from celebrating hard! After the formalities, the hopped aboard a catamaran for their cocktail hour and the party officially started. We love a group that knows how to have a good time, and the Peterson/Fenner party certainly did! Congrats Sydnie and Chris! Enjoy their highlight videos below.

Alyssa and Nick's wedding day was nothing short of spectacular. The vibrant couple pulled out all the stops to treat their guests to a day they will not soon forget. Their ceremony was held on the beach of the luxury private island resort, Sunset Key, where Alyssa and Nick made it official under a stunning ceremony arch by Duarte Floral Design. The guests chased the sunset on a catamaran sail cocktail hour with Fury Water Adventures while Alyssa and Nick shared a few romantic moments as brand-new-newlyweds. The reception decor was out of a romantic storybook and no stone was left unturned. From the hand painted dishes, to the whimsical chandelier, the atmosphere was exquisite. Congrats Alyssa and Nick!

Loryn and Danny chose the beautiful Casa Marina Resort as the spot where they would start their journey as husband and wife. The day was a celebratory one - and for more than just the newly-wedded-bliss reasons - it also happened to be the bride's birthday. (That adds up to 2 reasons to eat cake!) The couple opted for the ceremony and reception on the white sandy beach of the resort and shared their first dance as husband and wife as the sun began to set. Congratulations to these two newlyweds! Enjoy their highlight videos below.

Lauren and Meredith celebrated their union with a spectacular beach wedding on the point at Fort Zachary Taylor. Surrounded by their sharply dressed family and friends, these two lovebirds said, "I Do" as the sun was setting on a picturesque Key West day. After the ceremony the reception was underway in the Civil War fortress, a stunning backdrop for a celebration like theirs. From the heartfelt speeches, to the riotous lacrosse team dance this wedding was the perfect blend of romance and dance party. We were so happy to be with them on their special day. In the lush gardens of the Audubon House, surrounded by their closest loved ones Chase and Christina tied the knot. Their ceremony had a particularly unique touch that was a first for us: a unity beer ceremony where they combined two of their favorite brews as a symbol for how their bond cannot be split. From that to their hilarious wrestling-style entrance into the reception, this couple was all about having a good time on their big day. We're so glad we were there to capture it! Congrats Chase and Christina. Enjoy their highlight videos below.

From the groomsmen's shirts, to the bridesmaid's earrings, to the table decor -- no detail was overlooked for Kayla and Alex's bold and beautiful wedding. The bride and groom went with a non-traditional approach to not only their wedding clothes (how cool is her jumpsuit?!) but they incorporated some other newer practices into their big day. They shared a private vow exchange prior to the ceremony and instead of a flower girl, Kayla's grandmother sprinkled flower petals down the aisle! It is so fun to see how all of our couples bring their own style and personality to their big day. Congrats Kayla and Alex!

Erika and Travis said "I Do" last month at the Historic Fort Zachary Taylor State Park. From getting ready to first look to the I Do's to the dancing, Erika, Travis and all their guests knew how to have a good time. Bonus! Kayla and Bobby were one of the sweetest couples we've had the pleasure to work with. They were married last month at The Casa Marina Resort. Their love for each other shined brightly on screen and you could feel the support and love coming from all their guests as they said, "I Do," on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Fun Fact: they had never been to Key West before their wedding - Kayla planned everything for their wedding via social media and online research. A true destination surprise for them! Thanks Kayla and Bobby for sharing your big day with us! Enjoy their highlight videos below.

Meghan (Han) and Aaron said "I Do" at the historic Fort Zachary Taylor State Park surrounded by their family and friends. One thing we loved about this couple was their playful spirit - the bride walked down the aisle to the theme from Jurassic Park! After the nuptials, they celebrated under the stars at the Moon Lounge at Bagatelle and smooched over a slice of Key Lime Pie. Congratulations Han & Aaron! Enjoy their highlight videos below.
